Abe Lincoln Paper

Mark J. Cafiso, Age 9, February 8, 1966

This was always a special read, Mark's father would read this at dinner and cry from laughing so hard. He thought it was hilarious that Mark wrote like he knew the guy.  Eventually everyone would cry from laughing.  One of my favorite memories of Lewis Cafiso (Grandpa Cafiso to me).  Jacqueline

This is a story about a small boy who grew up as a great man.  His name, Abe, Abraaham Lincoln.  Abe lived with this mother and father. His falther couldn't read.  Abe's father wanted Abe to read. Abe wanted to learn to read.  And after he read a lot he learned to read. Abe had to go many miles to go to school. Once Abe asked a friend if he could borrow a book.  He said "may I borrow a book?" His friend said, "yes" but if you rip it or anything you will have to pay for it. He ripped it so he did not have much money so he had to work for it. He was a laborer for five years. He became 16th president of the United States. It was an very big honor to meet Abe. Abe helped this country as much as he could! He never told a like or anything. So people called him Onist Abe. One night he went to play and a crazy man came up and shot him in 1865. Everyone all over the country cried.  And we sellibrate his birthday February 12th.  He was a great man and he still is. That was the storey of Abe Lincoln.
